Grow your options.
A career lasts longer than a season. Explore athletic development, commercial readiness, and the value you can build beyond competition.
This advisor shares documented athlete histories and factual pathway information. Suggestions draw on those examples; similar accomplishments do not guarantee recruitment, endorsements, scholarships, or earnings. Readiness weights and earnings scenarios are illustrative, not validated predictions. Accomplishment-based lifetime valuation is not yet available. No name, school, or contact details needed. 04 / Make the assumptions visibleCommercial scenario worksheet
Model a year of deliverables, then explore a conditional career scenario. Enter rates from real comparable offers. Defaults are illustrative placeholders, not researched market rates. A zero-deal outcome remains possible.
Conditional lifetime commercial gross
This scenario assumes every entered deliverable sells at the entered fee for every year. It excludes salary, prize money, school revenue sharing, investment returns, equity appreciation, inflation, and taxes. It is neither probability-weighted nor discounted. Post-career revenue needs its own business plan.
The SportsDeFi athlete knowledge libraryEvery example should have a source.
Explore 58 athletes indexed through recent partnership announcements, plus historical and development stories. Search results open original sources in a story panel. This is a curated starter library, not Wikipedia-scale coverage. Recent partnership records do not yet include complete biographies or verified accomplishment timelines.
Evidence labels: Confirmed = supported by the cited primary record; Reported / unconfirmed = attributed reporting without primary confirmation; Rumored = a specifically sourced claim awaiting corroboration; Estimate = a modeled number, not a payment; Undisclosed = unknown. Rumors and unconfirmed amounts never feed earnings calculations. No rumor records have been added to this starter sample. Relevant sports / business claims only. Source labels: brand / school announcement confirms the named relationship; it does not independently establish compensation, recruiting probability, or why the athlete was selected. No endorsement by the featured athletes is implied.

This starter index covers 53 college announcement entries and 8 prep / OTE entries. Repeat athletes remain visible as separate announcements; they do not automatically represent extra contracts or payments. These sources verify participation, not cash amounts. This is a brand-heavy, selective sample, not the full market.

Research signal: Nike lists Jonah Williams in both baseball and football. This is a concrete multisport example, not evidence that multisport participation causes higher compensation. Individual achievement-to-deal timelines are still being verified; this index does not infer that an award caused a signing.
Development pathways / compare the actual offerSalary, scholarship, or a bill?
Overtime Elite · basketball
The 2021 launch advertised a $100,000 minimum annual salary. Reporting in 2022 described a scholarship alternative that waived salary to preserve college options. Those historical terms are not a verified current salary standard. Current compensation, benefits, and eligibility terms require an actual OTE offer.
Preparation: competitive full-game film, reliable statistics, strong competition, coach references, and fit with an elite basketball development pathway. This checklist is our preparation advice, not published OTE selection criteria.

The Premier League’s 2025/26 agreement provides football development and education, with remuneration set in the individual schedule and subject to a minimum-wage floor. It is not a universal tuition scholarship amount. Confirm current season terms, accommodation, travel, and who pays each expense.
Offer route: club scouting, academy assessment, and a formal club offer. A family should confirm trial invitations directly with the club and clarify registration and international eligibility before travel.
2025/26 agreement ↗ · Parent guidance ↗NBL Next Stars · Australia / NZ
An elite professional development route. The program describes recruitment of draft-eligible talent. A current universal salary and scholarship value were not verified in this research; ordinary NBL salary minimums should not be substituted for a Next Stars offer.
Preparation: a track record against strong competition, full-game evidence, development fit, and direct assessment by the program. Keep professional pay separate from education benefits.
Program recruiting account ↗TASS · England / multiple sports
SportsAid describes support for eligible athletes aged 16+, nominated by their national governing body and pursuing recognized learning. Services may include strength and conditioning, nutrition, and physiotherapy. No flat cash scholarship amount is assumed.
Offer route: reach the relevant national talent pathway and ask the governing body about nomination criteria; this is not a general open scholarship application.
Eligibility and support ↗Foreign clubs differ by country, sport, age, and registration status. A branded academy or paid camp is not automatically a professional club place. International moves for minors require separate rule checks. The site does not determine legal eligibility.
Offer comparison worksheet
For each written offer, record: currency and dates; guaranteed cash; conditional bonuses; tuition actually covered; housing, meals, travel, equipment, and training; mandatory family costs; injury protection; education accreditation; eligibility implications; image rights; agent fees; release and renewal terms. Count benefits only once. Value them at your actual avoided cost, not the academy’s advertised retail price.
05 / Evidence before predictionStudy the pathway, not just the payday.
LICENSING / BASKETBALLMichael Jordan
A 1984 Nike agreement preceded his NBA championship era. Later competitive success and the product business developed together. This chronology cannot establish what a championship alone is worth.
Read the historical account ↗OWNERSHIP / TENNISRoger Federer
On announced Federer as a co-owner in November 2019. His role illustrates a different pathway from endorsements: ownership and product collaboration. Equity value is not the same as cash earnings.

Youth basketball guidance supports sports sampling and delaying specialization until mid to late adolescence. A systematic review found associations between youth multisport participation and favorable outcomes in many sports, while noting mostly retrospective evidence. Neither establishes a universal age-18 rule or an NIL income bonus.
Our approach: prioritize enjoyment, transferable skills, recovery, and athlete choice. Keep multiple sports through 18 or beyond when feasible and desired; review sport-specific demands individually, especially in early-peak disciplines.

How the 1–10 score works
Each input is normalized to 0–1. Readiness = 1 + 9 × (20% accomplishments + 25% audience connection + 25% commercial execution + 15% communication + 15% career foundations). Accomplishments = (level − 1) / 4. Sliders = (value − 1) / 4. Weights are editorial design choices, not fitted coefficients. Age shapes advice, not the score. Sport is contextual only in this version; sport-specific models are not yet calibrated. Self-reports require verification before deal evaluation.
What a defensible historical model needs
A sport-by-sport, gender-inclusive dataset spanning elite earners, typical competitors, and athletes with no reported deals. Record dated achievements, first and later partnerships, disclosed fees, audience history, geography, career duration, and post-career ventures. Treat undisclosed income as unknown, not zero. Separate annual cash income, cumulative earnings, royalties, and equity wealth; normalize currency and inflation.
Use athlete-year observations, time ordering, matched comparisons, and out-of-sample validation. Highest-paid lists identify possible pathways but create survivor bias. They cannot supply a child's likelihood of reaching those outcomes. Publication of lifetime forecasts requires calibrated progression probabilities and uncertainty, including non-pro pathways.
NIL is commercial work, not a prize for achievements
Accomplishments can enhance visibility. NCAA guidance requires legitimate NIL activity with a valid business purpose and reasonable compensation. An award does not itself establish a payable endorsement. Rules depend on jurisdiction, governing body, and eligibility status; verify current requirements with the relevant organization.
